We are all guilty of giving the skin plenty of face time but when it comes to the neck and décolleté us Brits (especially) seem to be very unclear as to whether the neck is an extension of our face or our body! In fact a lot of us consider it to be in ‘no man’s land’ and therefore completely neglect it.

Once upon a time our necks didn't become a worry until at least our middle ages and by which time a crepe, wrinkly neck was just covered up with a silk scarf or polo neck jumper to hide it from the outside world. Roll on 50 years and sadly due to the technology of smart phones and devices, that has all changed! It has been estimated that some of us are looking down at our devices and tablets up to 150 times a day!  This means all generations (even in your 20’s) are seeing increased premature wrinkles and sagging in the neck – trust me it doesn’t matter how smooth the skin on your  face is –there is nothing that can betray a woman’s age more quickly than a crepe ,crumpled and creased neck.

And its little wonder when you list what the skin on the neck has to contend with on a daily basis.  The neck is the main support for the head and it has to allow for a lot of movement.  The major muscles here – the platysma being the principal - are not supported by bones, so they are weaker and loosen more easily. Whether we are looking up, down, all around or sleeping on our side the skin is twisted, pulled and stretched in many different directions. Over time this encourages the appearance of lines and wrinkles as the skin loosens and thins with age.    Scientific research suggests the neck comprises of 15 times fewer sebaceous glands and far less fatty tissue than the face causing it to be less plump and hydrated.  It is also regularly exposed to harmful UV rays without any protection which leads to uneven pigmentation and dark ‘age spots’. Our chests are one of the top 5 places we regularly burn which is very damaging

Décolleté, a beautiful French word meaning “wearing a low-neck dress” is what we use when referring to our upper chest area and where it meets the neck and shoulders. If there is a secret to ageing well, the French know it and they take it very seriously starting from a young age targeting the delicate neck and décolleté independently from the rest of the face.   In a recent study it was found that on average a French woman looks 1.35 years younger than British women for every decade.  This equates to 3.4 years younger by the time we hit 40 and 4.8 years at 50!

Jeanne Gatineau’s profound knowledge on skin ageing resulted in many cosmetic breakthroughs through the years and in 1966 ‘Cou Jeune’ was launched (translated as ‘young neck’).  This highly targeted serum gel was formulated with a high concentration of natural wheat proteins which created an incredible in-depth contracting effect on the elastin fibres to rebuild the skin’s support network and create a visible lift and smoothing effect.  Fast forward a good few decades and with that a substantial reformulation to bring it into the 21st century and Gatineau’s Throat Gel still remains one of our trailblazing products to this day.
Think of this pioneering neck serum gel as a trouble shooter, a problem solver and quite literally a game changer transforming this very delicate area and becoming your neck’s new best friend!  Targeting the 5 main signs of ageing – this highly restorative and ultra-toning daily neck treatment not only improves the skin’s resilience but smooths away necklace lines, vertical décolleté creases and protects the skin from premature ageing maintaining its suppleness and elasticity.

And as always, it comes down to the scientific formula that takes the accolade for its success. Bursting with highly advanced Dynalift Technology extracted from the stalk of the Sorghum Juice plant, this potent juice creates a stretchy-film over the surface of the skin, providing an immediate and resilient micro-lifting effect. Add into the mix nourishing and protective sunflower seed oil cultivated by American Indian tribes about 3,000 B.C and used to condition their skin, it is a great source of vitamin E and abundantly rich in nutrients and antioxidants. As well as allowing the skin to receive long-lasting hydration Vitamin E is able to shield the skin against the daily environmental aggressions that can accelerate ageing.  And with added Vitamin A and F, the combination of these 3 vitamins A, E, F ensures essential skin cell growth and function whilst supporting the skin’s immunity.

And guess what? It’s needle-free and knife free yet it’s the latest in skin-transforming and achieving that youthful complexion for a tightened, lifted, plumped and better defined neck and décolleté.  What’s more it is effortless to use so what have you got to lose? (Except a sculpted neck!)

CARRIE
It was very easy to use, the application was smooth and it dried in quickly, leaving my neck feeling moisturised and hydrated, with no tight feeling!
The whole area feels more comfortable, less tight and when I look in the mirror I can see a noticeable improvement.  I didn't think it would work so quickly - if it was going to work at all. How wrong was I!

SUSAN
The skin on my neck and décolleté feels smoother, softer, more radiant and with fewer lines and wrinkles. I have used other neck and décolleté creams, but nothing compares to this.

STACEY
My skin feels smoother, softer and more hydrated. I would recommend it to anyone over the age of 35 as it is preventative. The size of the product is amazing- I feel like I can be generous with it!
