WHY DOES MY SKIN APPEAR OILY?
Oily skin is caused by an excess of sebum which is secreted from the sebaceous glands located under the skin's surface. Breakouts develop when the sebum becomes clogged with dead skin cells in the pores causing inflammation. Oily skin can be an inherited skin type but can also be influenced by hormonal imbalance, environmental assaults and a poor cleansing regime.
WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT OILY SKIN?
- Follow a twice daily cleanse with a water-soluble cleanser and double cleanse skin every evening to eliminate all traces of pollution and excess oil
- Apply a hydrating yet non-irritating toner to minimise oil and rebalance the skin pH level
- Hydrate and protect the skin with a light-weight mattifying emulsion
- Exfoliate skin twice weekly to remove dead skin cells that can block pores and cause blemishes
